Tunza Fun Grand Final Team

TUNZA FUN are pictured here enjoing their well deserved win against Master Breakers in the Wet Season Grand Final that was played last night at Cazalys. Now the season is over, the only thing left to do is to split up that pile of cash on the table.
Tunza Fun lead the charge but were equalled by Master Breakers in the first round to be level at 2 all. Tunza Fun took a 5-3 lead after the 2nd round and maintained the 2 frame lead by the end of the 3rd to lead 7-5. The Dash for Cash was looking good for Tunza Fun when Michael Chan took the 1st frame in the last round but Dan Crawley slowed the match down for a while and won the next frame for Master Breakers. Master Breakers were now playing for the draw and a final shoot out but Tunza Fun could smell the cash and it was up to Glen Bednarczyk to make it so for this great team who had been on top of the ladder all season. Glen won the frame and the match and Tunza Fun won the cash.
Master Breakers will be lining up again in the dry season, so look out Channy they are out to get you :)
Michael Chan also picked up the prize for Highest Point Scorer.
Dan Cantwell also picked up a few dollars for his Master Break during the season as did Chris Beagley and Cliff Crockford.
FORMAL AFFAIR 2010

From top left: Jamie Buettner, Ken Kernich, Joe Buettner, Des Hunt, Nick Fuller, John Karpathakis, Sharon Jennings.
The 2010 Formal Affair was held over the week end of the 9th and 10th of October, the event was not supported as well as we would have like and the Association will be looking seriously into the invitees next year. For those who did partake they had a great day and Mel Sanders was the eventual winner. Well done Mel and good luck in Adelaide at the 2010 Nationals.
Congratulations Mel
Melanie Sanders Winner of the 2010 Formal Affair

LITCHFIELD CLASSIC 22/5/10
Scott McKay winner 2010 Litchfield Classic

The Litchfield Classic was held over the weekend just gone. There was a wealth of talent in the room, we saw World Masters Champion Robbie Savage come out for a rare appearance also Marc Bingham a previous winner of this event, the well fancied Chris Beagley and last year’s winner Scott McKay just to name a few. The event was a two life singles tournament and the first round started sorting out the men from the boys. Marc Bingham was the top seed and had a bye in the first round. Mel Sanders was eliminated out of her first life by last year’s runner up Tim Olencawicz. Young up and coming player Jamie Buettner sent Tara Fisher on her way to her second life and Robbie Savage lost his first life to Ricky Perkins. In the second round Marc Bingham ousted Tim Olencawicz and Scott McKay made short work of Jamie Buettner, Dan Crawley had a fast forward to the third round with a bye in the first round and a no show in the second round, he came a cropper up against Chris Beagley and was sent to the other side of the draw. Charles Ormond fought for his win against Marc Bingham in the fourth round and Chris Beagley lost his first life to Scott McKay. Ormond finally lost his first life to McKay who had to then wait to see who would come through from the other side of the draw to play the final. On the second life side of the draw Mel Sanders was eliminated by Mark Wood, Robbie Savage eliminated Narelle Kapatharkis , Dan Crawley and Tim Olencawicz battled it out to be 2 all in a best of 5 frame match when Crawley potted the black out of turn to give Tim O the match. In other matches Robbie Savage eliminated Ricky Perkins only to come up against Chris Beagley, stalwart Savage ended Beagleys’ quest and then had to play Marc Bingham. Bingham played a great match and Robbie was out, Bingham then had to play Charles Ormond. Bingham was fighting to stay in the match and really had to think about every shot. His attention to detail and some handy shots saw him through to the Final against Scott McKay. McKay was in the box seat with still 2 lives in hand and Bingham having to beat him twice to win the tournament. Bingham started the off the best of 9 frames potting the first black, McKay potted the next one and that is how it played out until the end of the match. Bingham took the match and a life off McKay and it was now down to the final round. The match was best of 11 frames, it went frame for frame until it was 2 each, and then McKay lifted a gear and had a 2 frame lead. A few loose shots were played by both players, twice McKay failed to hit a cushion and Bingham had 2 crucial balls jump out of pockets instead of going down. It was a nail biter to watch and both players had it in them to get up and win the match. In the end it was a shame that one had to lose. Scott McKay got up in the end and won the match 6-4. Scott could not have been happier with back to back wins under his belt.
